Approximately 50 theatre/musical theatre majors come to Tyler Junior College annually for an aggressive, action-packed two-year program designed to offer the student multiple performance and technical opportunities, a wealth of experience, growth and maturity, exciting challenges, and fulfillment of hard work well-done.
The Associate of Arts degree with an emphasis in theatre is designed to prepare students with a well-rounded experience. Students take courses suitable for their interests in performance, technical theatre and/or education.
Musical theatre majors participate in a sequence of courses in theatre, voice and dance. These students develop their skills through classroom, workshop, and varied performance opportunities.

We prepare you for the Broadway musical theatre scene by putting you up against exciting and invigorating challenges that deliver a wealth of experience, growth and maturity.
Our theater department prides itself on providing a well-rounded theatre education, taught by professors who specialize in certain areas of theatre, from directing to acting and stagecraft.
