The mission of the Tyler Junior College Testing Services is to provide high quality testing services that observe and adhere to the National College Testing Association's Professional Standards and Guidelines in order to meet the needs of our students, faculty and community members. The Testing Center exists to support the integrity of the testing process by creating a quiet, comfortable and clean environment conducive to productive testing, providing great customer service by being friendly, courteous and supportive, by collaborating with faculty, administrators, other colleges and universities and working with testing vendors and national organizations to keep abreast of best practices.
Welcome to the TJC Testing Services website. We will attempt to provide you with the information and opportunity to meet your academic assessment needs as painlessly and efficiently as possible.
Identification: Students must present an official photo identification card such as a TJC student ID or driver's license prior to taking any test. A student will not be allowed to test without proper identification.
Scheduling: All tests, with the exception of standardized tests, (CLEP, etc.) are administered on a walk-in basis during the Testing Center's published hours. Seating is limited. A student is encouraged to allow sufficient time for completing an exam within the published hours of the center. Students will not be permitted to test within one hour of closing. All exams are collected at closing time, even if not complete.
Proctoring: Testing personnel visually monitor students while testing. Closed circuit cameras are also used to monitor activity in the testing center. Any irregularities in the administration process are reported to the professor and their dean. If you need a Proctor Agreement Form, see the related downloads page.
Special Accommodations/Disability Services: Students who need the ADA Student Coordinator, at (903) 510-2878.
Faculty: The Special Accommodations Checklist and Paper and Pencil Exam Form can be found on the related downloads page.
