Requirements before the audition
Make sure that you have filled out and returned the TJC Band Membership Application form and your High School Band Director has filled out and returned the Band Director Recommendation Form.
Audition Schedule
Your audition can be scheduled by appointment any time between November and July. We encourage students to audition early in the spring semester to help ensure that they receive the highest consideration for scholarships. The audition should take about 15-20 minutes. If you have time, we can arrange a campus tour with one of our band members after your audition. If you are interested, please let us know a few days in advance so we can make sure we have a student ready to show you around.

Major scales - do not have to be memorized, play as many octaves as you are comfortable with
Most students will use a portion of the region band audition etudes or a solo they are preparing for solo and ensemble contest for their auditions.
