TJC schedules Registration Extravaganza for winter, spring semesters

Tyler Junior College is offering a weeklong Registration Extravaganza for its upcoming winter and spring terms.

Winter Term is a three-week, online-only session set Dec. 18-Jan. 9. For a list of available courses, go to TJC.edu/winter.
 
The spring semester begins Tuesday, Jan. 16, and offers three sessions:
• 16-week — Jan. 16-May 8
• 1st 8-week — Jan. 16-March 8
• 2nd 8-week — March 18-May 8
  
Online registration opens Sunday, Nov. 12, at TJC.edu/register.
 
Walk-in advising and registration will be held 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, Nov. 13-17, with extended hours until 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, on the second floor of Rogers Student Center, located at 1401 E. Lake St., on the TJC central campus.
 
Daily prize drawings will be held during walk-in registration:
• Monday — 42-inch 1080p TV with Roku
• Tuesday — TJC swag bag of merchandise plus a $100 Apache Bux gift certificate for TJC dining locations, courtesy of Aramark
• Wednesday — TJC swag bag of merchandise plus a $100 Apache Bux gift certificate for TJC dining locations, courtesy of Aramark
• Thursday — 42-inch 1080p TV with Roku
• Friday — $1,000 TJC housing scholarship to be used for spring semester room and board
 
Students who register online or in person by the end of the day Friday, Nov. 17, will also be entered in a grand prize drawing for a $1,000 scholarship provided by the Tyler Junior College Foundation, to cover tuition and fees.
 
Our academic advisors are available to help students register for classes and connect them with the resources they need to be successful throughout the semester,” said Chris Fontaine, executive director of TJC Advising, Veterans/Military and Testing Services.
 
After registering, students can set up a special, five-installment payment plan to make budgeting easier. The five-payment plan will only be offered through the month of November. Beginning Tuesday, Dec. 5, four installment payments will be offered to students.
 
For those who are not already TJC students, staff members will be on hand to assist them through the admissions process.
 
TJC offers more than 115 degree and certificate programs, including academic transfer, workforce training and completion bachelor’s degrees.
 
In addition to academics, TJC has nationally ranked athletics and stellar performing arts programs, all at about one-third of the cost of a four-year institution.
