Registration open for TJC’s second eight-week semester

Tyler Junior College’s second eight-week fall term begins Monday, Oct. 23, offering a condensed session where students can complete a full-credit course in half the time of a regular semester class.

Courses are offered mostly online, with a few in-person options, in subjects including: art appreciation, chemistry, criminal justice, culinary arts, dance appreciation, economics, English composition, geology, government, history, music appreciation, speech and world literature, among others.

TJC staff members offer personal assistance daily in the Apache Enrollment Center (AEC), located on the first floor of the White Administrative Services Center on the TJC central campus.
 
AEC operating hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, with extended hours until 7 p.m. Thursdays.
 
Winter 2023 and Spring 2024 registration begins Nov. 12
Online registration for TJC’s winter and spring semesters begins Sunday, Nov. 12, at TJC.edu/register.
 
Winter Term is a three-week, online-only session set Dec. 18-Jan. 9. For a list of available courses, go to TJC.edu/winter.
 
Spring classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 16, and run through Wednesday, May 8.
 
TJC offers three spring terms:
• Spring 16-week — Jan. 16-May 8
• Spring 1st eight-week — Jan. 16-March 8
• Spring 2nd eight-week — March 18-May 8
 
Beginning Monday, Nov. 13, walk-in advising and registration will also be held daily in Rogers Student Center, located at 1401 E. Lake St., on the TJC central campus.
 
Hours of operation will be 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Thursdays.
 
Fall Preview Day set Oct. 28
TJC offers more than 115 degree and certificate programs, including academic transfer, workforce training and completion bachelor’s degrees.
 
Potential students and their families can learn more about TJC during Fall Preview Day, set. 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, on the TJC central campus.
 
Those interested in taking classes at TJC can also apply for admission and submit their financial aid documents.
 
In addition, open house events will be held from 10 a.m. to noon that day at Rogers Nursing and Health Sciences Center and TJC West.
