For its final production of the 2022-23 season, Theatre TJC presents playwright Mary Zimmerman’s mythical study, “Metamorphoses.”
Primal storytelling and modern sensibility collide in a sensual re-envisioning of Greek myths, as gods and mortals alike endure love, loss and transformation — all while immersed in a pool of water on stage.
Swirling with passion, Zimmerman’s Tony Award-winning masterpiece mesmerizes with tales of Midas, Orpheus, Aphrodite and more in a whimsical and heartbreaking meditation on the joys and perils of being humane.
The production is under the direction of Denise Weatherly-Green, TJC theatre professor.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, April 26-28, and 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29, in Jean Browne Theatre on the TJC central campus. The production contains situations not suitable for young audiences.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors ages 65 and up, students and active military. Tickets are on sale 1-6 p.m. weekdays in the TJC Box Office, in the Rogers Palmer Performing Arts Center. For reservations, call 903-510-2212.
