TJC presents dance production, ‘Cinderella’

Audiences of all ages are invited to experience the wonder of Tyler Junior College’s special dance adaptation of the classic fairy tale, “Cinderella.”

Performances are 7 p.m. Friday, April 14; 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 15; and 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 16, in Wise Auditorium, located in the Rogers Palmer Performing Arts Center on the TJC central campus.
 
Admission varies from $15 to $40, and tickets are on sale at TJC.edu/Cinderella.
 
“I’m excited to bring the magic of Cinderella to life through the art of dance,” said Shurrell Wiebe, artistic director and TJC dance professor. “Set design, custom lighting and special effects will captivate the audience and invite them into this fairy tale.
 
“Our dancers are unparalleled. This has something special for everyone, and I feel privileged to present this work to our East Texas community.”

About the guest artist

Vlada Arizonova

Vlada Arizonova (right) will be the special guest artist for the TJC production of “Cinderella.” Arizonova is formerly with The National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Odessa, Ukraine.

Vlada Arizonova began her training with the National Opera of Ukraine in Kyiv and performed in Saint Petersburg Festival Ballet.
 
She continued her performance career with The National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Odessa and has toured the world performing in the United States, Germany, Finland, Czech Republic, Iceland, Austria, Sweden, Netherlands, Canada, Belgium and Greece.
 
Arizonova has performed “Sleeping Beauty,” “Nutcracker,” “Swan Lake,” “Raymonda,” “Giselle,” “Don Quixote,” “Corsair” and many other notable roles throughout her career.
