Palacios named dean of TJC North in Lindale

Adam Palacios has been named Tyler Junior College’s dean of TJC North in Lindale.

He previously served as the College’s director of business and industry partnerships, where he fostered collaborations between the college and local industries, enhancing workforce programs that align with regional economic needs. He also worked closely with employers to identify skills gaps and developed training initiatives that prepare students for in-demand careers, including an HVAC-R ammonia technician track, and established the TJC Safety Institute.

In his new position, Palacios is responsible for overseeing the operations and strategic direction of TJC North, ensuring that the site meets the educational needs of the Lindale and Northeast Texas communities. He will also focus on expanding partnerships with local stakeholders to support workforce development initiatives.

He also serves on numerous TJC committees, including the TJC West Master Plan Committee, House Bill 8 Committee and Student Success Committee, and is an advisor for the TJC Hispanic Student Organization and board member of the East Texas Technology and Innovation Coalition.

Born and raised in Tyler, Palacios earned two associate degrees from TJC — in radio and television broadcasting and multimedia marketing and production. In 2021, he began teaching at TJC as an adjunct professor of mass communications.

He earned his Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences from East Texas A&M University and his Master of Business Administration from Capella University. In August, he will receive his Doctorate of Business Administration with an emphasis in international business from Liberty University.

A welcome reception for Palacios will be held 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at TJC North, located at 212 Miranda Lambert Way in Lindale. The public is invited to attend.
