
Graduates from three Tyler Junior College nursing and health sciences programs earned high marks in their recent licensing exams, surpassing pass rates at the state and national levels.
In the TJC Associate Degree Nursing program, 97.51 percent of graduates passed their National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) on the first try.
The national average passing rate is 92.69 percent, and the state average is 91.16 percent.
TJC’s Vocational Nursing program, 94.07 percent of graduates passed their National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) on the first try.
The national average passing rate is 93.25 percent, and the state average is 88.38 percent.
In TJC’s Dental Hygiene program, 100 percent of graduates have passed their National Board Dental Hygiene (NBDHE) and Clinical Board exams.
Nationwide pass rates for this year have not been finalized, however last year’s pass rate for the NBDHE was 89.5 percent and the Clinical Board exam was 96.34 percent.

“Their performance reflects the high standards of our program and the commitment we make to student success.”
