Music and dance will take center stage as students from the Tyler Junior College Academy of Dance join the East Texas Symphony Orchestra for “Invitation to the Dance.”
The performance is set 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Cowan Center, on the UT Tyler campus.
The performance will feature collaborations by ETSO and academy dancers for an evening of works by Debussy, Ravel and Brahms.
Tickets, which start at $10 for students and $15 for adults, are available at etso.org.
“We are thrilled to be sharing the stage with our supremely talented ETSO, under the baton of Maestro Richard Lee,” said Carolyn Hanna, director of the TJC Academy of Dance. “It’s going to be a wonderful night of collaborative performance between dancers and instrumentalists.”
Performers from the TJC Academy of Dance include: Brynn Allen, Michelle Azzi, Bella Burton, Cammie Coleman, Mackenzie Copfer, Savannah Gregory, Nadia Hartnauer, Zoe Grace Mazzare, Lydia Middleton, Anna Nowlin, Annabel Priest, Brooke Rhodus, Evelyn Robinson, Layla Sullivan, Gabriella Volberding and Elexis Wiebe.
In addition to the TJC performers, ETSO principal harpist Dr. Janel Hector will also serve as a featured artist.
