TJC Promise: Next Steps for High School Seniors

Important updates for Promise Seniors

Listed below are important requirements, as well as ways to meet them, that those in the cohort should start completing as soon as possible.

Apply for admission at TJC. The First Time College Student application, as well as more information about the documentation needed to complete the process, can be found at www.tjc.edu/admissions. All students, including those who have completed dual credit courses at TJC, must complete the freshman application. For assistance, you may visit our admissions team on campus on the first floor of the White Administrative Services Center, or call them at 903-510-2523.

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The application can be completed online at www.StudentAid.ed.gov. Be sure TJC is listed as one of the colleges listed to receive your application (School code 003648). After you have submitted the application, you should begin the TJC Financial Aid verification process around mid-December. The process can be completed online through Apache Access and may require you to submit additional documents to the Financial Aid office. For more information, you can visit TJC’s financial aid office on the first floor of the White Administrative Services Center, or reach them at 903-510-2385.

Apply for TJC scholarships online at www.tjc.edu/scholarships. You will need to have applied for admission and have a student ID number before completing this step. This application closes on April 1.  More information about the application process is available by contacting the scholarship office at 903-510-3234.

Promise Scholars who are graduating early and plan to attend TJC in the Fall must also meet the previously stated deadlines and requirements. Additionally, early graduates will need to notify the Promise Program of their plans at Promise@tjc.edu.

Promise seniors who meet the above requirements will receive continuation agreements and will be able to resume participation in the Promise Program when they are officially TJC Apaches this fall.

The TJC Promise Program sends frequent updates about important deadlines and events that are beneficial to program participants. If you are a student and would like to update your contact information, please email Promise@tjc.edu.
