Summer Financial Aid FAQ

When will I receive my financial aid refund?

You will receive your refund after the start of the semester in which you reach six combined credit hours for summer, but no earlier than the 2nd week of summer I.

For example: You register for a 3-hour course in Summer I, and a 3-hour course in Summer II. You will receive your financial aid refund in Summer II.

Refunds will begin being disbursed the week following the official reporting day for Summer I.

How can I know if I still have remaining loan aid to accept?

If you’ve accepted the maximum amount of direct loans for the fall and spring semesters, you will not have any remaining loan funds.

How can I see the status of a form I’ve submitted?

Check your Apache Access traffic lights for all updates. If an item is yellow, it requires an action from you.

Are installment plans or tuition payment agreements available for summer semesters?

They are not.

Do I need to complete my 2023-2024 FAFSA if I’ve completed my 2024-2025 FAFSA?

Yes, you’ll need to complete the FAFSA for the current school year to receive any financial aid for the summer terms at TJC.
