COVID-19 Emergency Funding

The Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA), allocates funding to TJC to provide emergency financial aid grants to students.

The emergency grant can be used for any component of a student's cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to the coronavirus such as:

  • Tuition
  • Food
  • Housing
  • Health care
  • Childcare

Who is eligible for TJC CARES Act Emergency funding? 

All need-based aid eligible students who are enrolled will automatically be awarded the $1,500.00 emergency grant.  Students who have not received any type of federal or state grant or a Direct Subsidized loan (need-based aid) and have an emergency need due to the coronavirus should complete the TJC NOW application.

TJC has one year to distribute the emergency grant funding and will award funds for each term (beginning Spring, 2021) until all need-based and eligible students are awarded.  Students with consecutive enrollment who received the Covid Relief grant in a previous term will have a lower priority for that term than other students who have not received the award.

How will I know if I received funding?

A notification email will be sent to the TJC email of each awarded student. TJC NOW applications will be reviewed by a committee and, if approved for the grant, will receive notification in their TJC email.
