Support for Career and Technical Education Students
The Carl D. Perkins Grant Program at TJC is a federally-funded program that provides community colleges with resources to develop and maintain programs that serve faculty, staff and students in Career and Technical Education.
Perkins CTE Success Center
TJC receives funding from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board from the Carl D. Perkins Act. Perkins Basic Grant funds are used to fund positions, materials, faculty professional development, and student services which seek to accomplish the following objectives:
- To build and sustain high-quality Applied Sciences program offerings.
- To promote an effective retention and completion program for CTE students who are enrolled in an Associate of Applied Science program.
- To supply financial assistance and reduce performance gaps for students with special circumstances.
