The paintings of Tyler Junior College art professor Dalia Gayed are being presented in a solo exhibition now through Thursday, Nov. 15, in the TJC Wise Auditorium Art Gallery.
Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays-Fridays.
A reception and artist’s talk will be held 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, in the gallery.
Ms. Gayed earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in fine art from Alexandria University in Egypt. She moved to the United States in 2006, earned her U.S. citizenship and is pursuing a second master’s degree in art history at the University of Texas at Tyler.
"Art is one of the most intimate expressions of the human soul," Gayed said. "Whenever you create something artistic, you dive deep inside yourself in search of inspiration and motivation. Each time I paint nature, I want the painting to show a story so others will see it."
She teaches classes in art appreciation for the TJC art department.
