Theatre TJC opens new season with ‘Our Town’

Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning small-town tale is the opener for Theatre TJC’s 2013-14 season.
“Our Town” examines love, marriage, life and death in early 20th-century America as it traces a dozen years in the lives of the inhabitants of Grover’s Corner, New Hampshire.
The Tyler Junior College production is under the direction of Dr. David W. Crawford.

Weatherly, Tyler, as Emily Webb; Ryan Ormandy, Van, as Professor Willard and Farmer McCarthy; Jacob Charlebois, Winona, as Mr. Web; Holley Garrison, Ferris, as Mrs. Soames and Woman in the Audience; Christine Pinsky, Red Oak, as Mrs. McCarthy and Woman in the Audience; Hanro Janse van Rensburg, Kempton Park, South Africa, as Simon Stimson; Philip Frazier, Kilgore, as Constable Warren; Anthony Johnson, Jacksonville, as Joe Stoddard and Baseball Player; Rebecca Carney, Athens, as Samantha Stoddard and Woman in the Audience; Rachel Creason, Tyler, as Grave.
Assistant directors are Rachel Creason and Katie Weatherly, both of Tyler.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 3-5, 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Oct. 11-12, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, in Jean Browne Theatre on the TJC main campus.
Tickets go on sale Wednesday, Sept. 25. All seats are $5. TJC Box Office hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays throughout the run of the show. For reservations, call the box office at 903-510-2212.
