Harmony & Understanding vocal group and the TJC Jazz Ensemble are “Movin’ & Groovin’ Across America” in their 38th Annual Pops Concert, set 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16 and 17, in Wise Audit

Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

Harmony & Understanding is under the direction of Andrea Trent, TJC vocal professor.

TJC Jazz Ensemble is under the direction of Heather Mensch, TJC professor of jazz studies and applied low brass.

Heather Samuelson is choreographer.

“We’re taking the audience on a cross-country tour, with classic, familiar tunes representing the sights and sounds of America’s favorite, musical destinations,” Trent said.

Musical numbers include “Route 66,” “Jambalaya,” “Georgia on my Mind,” “Hooray for Hollywood,” and a host of other destination-related selections.

The show will feature high-energy vocals and instrumentals, along with dance moves and styles spanning decades of some of the best in American music.
