Checklist

We are looking forward to having you and your family visit us for Summer Orientation 2013. There are some things you will need to do before you register for Summer Orientation.

Before you register for NSO
  1. Submit an Admissions application. You can do so online here.
  2. Submit either your official high school transcript or your GED scores. High School transcripts are not necessary if you are transferring from another accredited college or university.
  3. Submit official TSI scores. If you think you may be exempt from taking the TSI because of your SAT, ACT, or TAKS scores or have completed previous college coursework, contact the office of admissions. If you have previously attended any other accredited college or university, submit your official transcript. Faxed or photocopied versions are not considered official copies.
  4. Send Records to provide evidence the student received the Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination or booster dose during the 5 year proceeding and at least 10 Days prior to enrollment at Tyler Junior College. Visit our Vaccination page for more information.
  5. If you are planning to live on campus, you will need to do the following (all information can be found on our Housing page):
    1. Complete and submit a separate on-line Housing application.
    2. Complete and submit the Background Check form. A background check is processed for all students living on-campus.
  6. Complete the FAFSA. You should apply and don’t assume that you’re not eligible! Applying for Financial Aid is a process that typically takes 2 to 3 months to complete. The fall priority deadline is April 1.
  7. Choose a major to ensure that you see the proper advisor and register for the correct classes for your chosen major while attending summer orientation.

    2. See our Degree Plans page for a list of degrees offered. See each program's page for more information.
  8. Visit Apache Access and check your email as soon as possible and check it regularly. This will be the primary account all departments on campus will use for correspondence.
  9. Become a fan of "Center for Student Life and Involvement" page on Facebook to connect with fellow classmates, current TJC students, and have your questions answered about Orientation!
