Senate Elections

Date: April 14, 2015

Location: Jenkins Hall and Rogers Student Center

Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Cost: Must be a current TJC student to vote

Maker Faire - the greatest show and tell on Earth

The goal is to tinker, to do, to try, to experiment, to make and therefore learn by doing and increase STEM competency of our young people. However young and old alike some to show their stuff and engage youngsters. TJC Makers (students, staff, & faculty) and volunteers come to support this event. Performance groups are encouraged to provide entertainment. See http://tylermakerfaire.com/. Opportunity for community service and service learning for student class, Honors, or club credit. TJC Makers and volunteers have supported this event since its inception two years ago. Many TJC Makers have shown their stuff - TJC has had a larger presence than UT Tyler. Exhibits can vary over a large range. Examples were showing pond scum to kids, a TJC student blacksmith, play dough circuits, and soap making. Art connected to STEM encouraged such as blacksmith or plasma sculpture. Activities involving kids such as germ glo hand washing, building a birdhouse, etc. are encouraged. Be creative & support STEM education for our youngsters. Sponsored by STEM Club

Student Leadership Banquet

Date: April 21, 2015

Location: Green Acres Baptist Church Cross Walk Conference Center

Cost: Free w/vaild TJC ID. Tickets are $10 for guests.
