Vascular technologists specialize in imaging blood vessels. The Vascular Technology ESC is completed concurrently with the Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) and Diagnostic Echocardiography (DE) (AAS) degrees in the last year of both programs.
Graduates of the DMS program must first be registered in another modality (Abdomen, OB/GYN) before eligibility to sit for Registry examinations in Vascular Technology as administered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
Students graduating from the DE program will be eligible to sit for the Registered Cardiac Sonographer and Registered Vascular Sonographer examinations administered by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International Corporation (CCI).
We strongly recommend that you complete both the Associate of Applied Science degree portions of the programs and the Enhanced Skills Certificate option of the programs for the best success in your career.
