The Vision Care Technology associate degree program
will require students to complete 70 semester credit hours of course
work, with 54 semester hours in the major technical and related areas
of study and 16 semester credit hours of general academic course work.
The curriculum is in compliance with the educational requirements of
the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and meets the requirements
of business and industry. Basic skills and workplace competencies are
integrated throughout the curriculum. Included in the curriculum is
a 39 semester credit hour certificate option. The program is structured
as 1+1 A.A.S degree plan program.
All technical courses in the degree curriculum must
be successfully completed with a grade of "C" or better in
order to receive the degree or certificate. Having not made a grade
of "C" or better in any technical course, the student may
not be allowed to continue taking technical courses until that deficiency
is satisfied.
