JOB DESCRIPTION: This is a full-time, twelve-month administrative position reporting to the executive director of institutional effectiveness, planning and research and is responsible for the overall design, implementation and analysis of institutional research activities to meet local, state and national requirements and the design and implementation of a local records management program to meet state and national requirements. Responsibilities also include the following:
1. Selecting, adapting and applying appropriate quantitative and qualitative research design and statistical tools and techniques to all areas of study which include but are not limited to planning, evaluation, process improvement, program review, strategic planning, accreditation, student and staff characteristics, enrollment management, data integrity, and state and federal reporting requirements. 2. Maintaining historic information for planning, research projects, program evaluation, grant writing, trend analysis and developing longitudinal studies and statistical analysis. 3. Preparing a variety of mandated and requested College, State and federal reports related to enrollment, decision support, accreditation, appropriation, program review, course demand, students, institutional effectiveness, demographics programs, practices, procedures, and other assigned activities and services. 4. Maintaining the College Factbook. 5. Working independently and effectively under multiple deadlines. 6. Performing other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master’s degree in social or behavioral sciences, education, economics, statistics, or other quantitatively- oriented discipline required. Doctorate preferred. 2. Three years of progressively more responsible research experience, preferably in areas related to education, government, public policy, not-for-profit organizations, applied research, or financial analysis preferred. 3. Demonstrated understanding of community college education. Two years of community college related employment preferred. 4. Knowledge of research design, scientific sampling, statistical analysis and ability to interpret data, create information, and make recommendations. 5. Ability to write, revise, and use programs to extract and compile data from the College’s student computer system (Banner or other Enterprise Resource Planning system used in community colleges). 6. Ability to develop accurate reports, charts, graphs in Cognos, SPSS, and/or Excel which will present information in a useable format. 7. Ability and willingness to function as a team member in developing and implementing institutional research and institutional effectiveness projects. 8. Clearly and accurately communicate orally and in writing complex and/or technical information to lay audiences.
SALARY: $65,000 annually This is a security sensitive position, and a background check and drug screening will be completed prior to employment.
