What is Tech Prep?

Tech Prep is a six-year sequence of study beginning in the freshman year of high school, progressing through at least two years of college technical education and culminating with completion of an associate's degree. Tech Prep programs prepare students for high-skill, high-wage technical occupations while providing academic courses needed for success in college.

Why Should I Participate in Tech Prep?

By the year 2010, at least 85 percent of available jobs will require education or training beyond the high school level. A Tech Prep program can enable you to master the academic and occupational competencies necessary for jobs requiring advanced skills.

Money and Time Matter

Students can save time and money by taking advantage of Tech Prep programs in high school. Students can receive a maximum of 15 hours of college credit once they enter college and declare a technical major.
