At this point, you should have completed the application for admission, received your “A” number, and have your testing status...exempt or non-exempt.
Your official high school and/or college transcripts will determine if you are required to take the state mandated college readiness test. The exam consists of the following academic skills: reading, sentence skills, essay writing, and mathematics. Allow 3 - 4 hours to complete the placement exam. Please remember to take your time and do your best. Course placement will be determined from the results of this test.
If you are not exempt and need to test, visit the TJC Testing Center. For hours of operation and test fee information, go to www.tjc.edu/testing.
If you are unable to test at the TJC Testing Center, visit your local community or university to inquire if they would proctor the TJC TSI placement exam. Then contact the TJC Director of Testing for further information. We can work with the staff at your local college in order for you to take the TSI exam.
If your local college does not administer any of the above mentioned tests, contact the TJC Director of Testing for further information. We can work with staff at your local college in order for you to test using Accuplacer.
