Nursing and Health Sciences Center

In Tyler, Texas, healthcare has become more than a $3 billion industry supporting over 25,000 jobs. By late 2013, four major acute care medical facilities in East Texas will have invested $190 million in new construction to increase the capacity and quality of patient care. To meet the growing shortage of nursing and health sciences professionals, Tyler Junior College is constructing one of the most ambitious capital projects in its history—the Robert M. Rogers Nursing and Health Sciences Center. The new center will more than triple the classroom and laboratory space of TJC's current healthcare programs in a four-story, state-of-the-art facility. Its 130,000 square feet will allow the college to expand its 11 nursing and health sciences programs and add new programs to produce 50% more graduates--from 600 in 2013 to 900 by 2017.
