Registration open for TJC Paramedic-RN Transition Track

The Tyler Junior College Associate Degree Nursing program has announced a new 12-month schedule for its Paramedic-RN Transition Track.

A new cohort will be admitted each fall semester and complete the program the following August.

Previously, the Paramedic-RN Transition Track admitted a cohort once every 18 months.

“This new 12-month schedule increases enrollment opportunities for EMS/first responders as they work toward advancing their careers in the healthcare field,” said Jodi Seal, TJC associate degree and vocational nursing department chair.

The next Paramedic-RN Transition cohort will begin in the Fall 2020 semester, and the application deadline is noon Friday, Feb. 7.

To accommodate the varying schedules of first responders, courses for the Paramedic-RN Transition Track are conducted in a hybrid format with the majority of lectures online.

The ADN program graduated its first Paramedic-RN Transition cohort in December 2012 and its May 2019 cohort earned a 100-percent passing rate on the NCLEX-RN licensure exam.
