TJC leaders to present at national conference

Three Tyler Junior College leaders have been invited to present at the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) national conference in Orlando, Florida next month.

Juan E. Mejia, president for branch locations & district provost; Kim Lessner, vice president for marketing and enrollment services and chief communications officer; and Maggie Ruelle, program director for talent development & engagement, will present, “Reinvent Your Organizational Structure to Create Synergy & Success.”

The presentation explains how TJC strategically aligned its organizational structure to maximize student and community success with the mergers of four vital areas: Academic & Student Affairs and Marketing & Enrollment Management.

AACC is the primary advocacy organization for the nation’s community colleges and represents more than 12 million students among nearly 1,200 two-year, associate degree-granting institutions.

Celebrating over 92 years of academic excellence, TJC is recognized for its commitment to student and community success and has strategically continued to honor the past while preparing for the future.

Lessner, Ruelle and Mejia will be provided an opportunity to share some of the success stories about the institution during a prime time at the conference.

Mejia shared, “The College has the key ingredients to be great, and with our visionary board of trustees and our stellar faculty and staff, we are positioned to further tell our story at the state and national level.”

Lessner added, “We are honored that TJC was selected to present at this national conference and hope that other community colleges can benefit from our successful experiences.”
