Published Tuesday, 5th November 2013

Information about starting college for the first time – or returning after a long absence – will be provided by Tyler Junior College during a free Adult Student Preview Day set Saturday, Nov. 16.

An orientation session will be held 10 to 11 a.m. in Room 1109 of Jenkins Hall, and then the event will relocate to Gentry Gym, located in the Ornelas Health & Physical Education Center at the corner of Apache Pass and Mahon Avenue on the TJC main campus.

The college admissions process, registration procedures, testing requirements, financial aid and other services available to students will be discussed, as will promising career fields for future students.

Staff from academic advising, career services, testing, financial aid and admissions will also be available. Lunch will be provided.

Adult Preview Day is open to anyone 21 years or older who is interested in returning to college or starting for the first time. This might include single parents, displaced homemakers, recently laid-off workers or other adults who need retraining for a new career.

To register, go to www.tjc.edu/AdultPreviewDay, or call 903-510-2391 for more information.
