Published Tuesday, 27th August 2013

The Tyler Junior College Academy of Dance and the East Texas Symphony Orchestra are collaborating for the 25th anniversary presentation of Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet, “The Nutcracker.”

“‘The Nutcracker’ is such a time-honored tradition for so many East Texans, and it is often children’s first exposure to the power and beauty of classical music and dance,” TJC Academy of Dance Director Justine Pojanowski said.

“This is going to be such an exciting year, especially with the superb East Texas Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Richard Lee providing live music.”

Auditions will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, in the TJC dance studio (Room 125) located in the Ornelas Health and Physical Education Center on the college’s main campus.
