TJC students raising funds for Make-A-Wish child

Tyler Junior College students are racing against time to help fund a child’s dream of meeting his favorite Disney character.
Avian, the 3-year-old son of a former TJC student, has a life-threatening illness and his one wish is to meet Mickey Mouse.
Students in the TJC Professor Don Blaine’s business leadership class, in partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas, are conducting numerous fundraisers with a goal of raising $10,000 by Monday, Dec. 3.
The group is currently taking donations of clothing and household items to be sold in a TJC Garage Sale, set 7 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, in the parking lot at the corner of Palmer Avenue and Fifth Street.
All proceeds will go to Make-A-Wish and donations will be accepted through Friday, Nov. 16. Drop-off locations are set up in White Administrative Services Center and Wagstaff Gymnasium.
For more information on donations, contact Darian at 903-504-2220.
