World War II spy expert and author to speak Oct. 26 at TJC

Author and World War II spy expert Dr. Ann Todd will speak at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, in Room 1109 of Jenkins Hall, on the Tyler Junior College main campus.

The event is open to the public and admission is free. The program will last about an hour. Following her presentation, Dr. Todd will take questions from the audience and share her advice on research, writing and getting published.
 
Dr. Todd is an author and expert on World War II, the history of the CIA and American female spies.
 
She has been a contributing author and consultant for the National Geographic Society, given presentations in national parks about Office of Strategic Services (OSS) operations, and worked as a historian for the National Museum of the Marine Corps.
 
Her latest book, “OSS Operation Black Mail: One Women’s Covert War Against the Imperial Japanese Army,” published by Naval Institute Press, has garnered positive reviews from literary critics and intelligence experts alike.
 
She has held speaking engagements at CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia, and Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and has been invited to speak at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University in College Station.
 
She served in the U.S. Coast Guard and now resides in Dripping Springs.
