TJC announces associate degree nursing graduates for May 2017

Tyler Junior College has announced 40 graduates from the associate degree nursing program for May 2017.

The TJC Associate Degree Nursing program is a 60-credit-hour curriculum that leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree. Graduates are eligible to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) as defined by the Texas Board of Nursing.
 
TJC graduates have a 94-percent pass rate on the NCLEX-RN exam and a 93-percent job-placement rate within six months of graduation.
 
Nursing is one of the most in-demand careers in the U.S., with an average annual salary of $66,640.
 
Located in the heart of the Tyler medical district, TJC provides an excellent gateway into hospital, home health and other health care professions.
 
Applications are being accepted Aug. 1-11, for the spring 2018 semester.
 
Training East Texas nurses since 1951
TJC has been training area nurses since 1951, when it opened the Texas Eastern School of Nursing, in cooperation with Mother Frances and Medical Center hospitals.
 
In 1981, the three-year, diploma program was converted into a two-year, Associate Degree Nursing program.
 
Since then, thousands of area nurses have received their start at TJC.
