TJC Alumni Association earns CASE Award

Tyler Junior College Director of Alumni Affairs Betty Briggs brought home a top award from the annual Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), Southwest District IV conference in New Orleans in February.

TJC’s entry, "Large Alumni Program on a Small Budget," earned first place in the category of Best Low-Cost Alumni Program in the CASE District IV Awards, which included entries from four-year as well as two-year institutions.

"It was an honor to have Tyler Junior College listed among the winners that included Oklahoma State University, Baylor, Texas A&M University, UT Austin and other four-year universities," Briggs said. "We were one of only a handful of two-year colleges who won an award."

TJC’s marketing and public affairs department earned honorable mention in the CASE Awards website animation category for the College’s recently redesigned homepage, www.tjc.edu.

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education District IV Conference is the annual meeting for higher education professionals in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mexico, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Approximately 1,000 attended the event. Next year’s conference will be held in Fort Worth.
