TJC Law Enforcement Academy graduation held Friday

The Tyler Junior College Law Enforcement Academy has announced graduates from its 26th basic peace officer class.

Graduates were honored during a ceremony held Friday, March 24, on the TJC West Campus.

Twenty graduates successfully completed the 19-week basic peace officer course as required by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.

“All 20 police cadets passed their State Licensing Exam,” said Lt. Harold Hayter, academy director. “This is the largest graduating class in TJC Law Enforcement Academy history, and we are extremely proud to be sending these TJC cadets out to protect the communities they serve.”

Class valedictorian is Abby Rodseth, Tyler Police Department.

Graduates and their law enforcement agencies are: Benny Davenport, Tyler Police Department; R.L. Davis, Longview PD; Rodney Eubanks, Longview PD; Jennifer Gillham, Jacksonville PD; Quintin Green, Smith County Sheriff's Office; Colin Groce, Longview PD; Justin Huddleston, Palestine PD; Blake Kelley, Tyler PD; Cody Kemp, Tyler PD; Jocobo Lira, Longview PD; Kaci Lopez, Tyler PD; Kyle McBride, Longview PD; Michael Preston, Longview PD; Abby Rodseth, valedictorian, Tyler PD; Leslie Sheridan, Longview PD; William Smeltzer, Longview PD; Brian Stewart, Tyler PD; Tyler Stroscein, Longview PD; Stephen Thomas, Tyler PD; and Barron Wedgeworth, Smith County SO.
