TJC's Thompson Named First Team All-American
Tyler Junior College Women’s Basketball player Tamara Thompson has been named NJCAA First Team All-American, Tim Drain, TJC director of intercollegiate athletics, announced today.
Thompson, a sophomore from Del Valle, is the tenth Apache Lady named an NJCAA All-American and the first Apache Lady named to the first team since 2002. Tyler Junior College has had a representative on the NJCAA Women’s Basketball All-America team every year since 1999.
"Tamara Thompson was hard to guard at every position," said Apache Ladies Head Coach Trenia Tillis. "She has been a valued asset to our team this season. Whatever team inherits Tamara will have a talented, versatile player who is capable of taking over a program."
