Affordable Care Act (ACA) Information

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE NOTICE ON HEALTH INSURANCE MARKETPLANCE COVERAGE OPTIONS AND YOUR HEALTH BENEFITS

Please access the Health Insurance Marketplace Coverage Options PDF for the required notice providing you instructions on how to access information about the Health Insurance Marketplace health plans which are key parts of the health care law which takes effect in 2014. The Health Insurance Marketplace health plans are offered by the State or the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Tyler Junior College is required to send the PDF notice above to every employee to comply with rules under the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA).

YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO ANYTHING unless you are interested in Marketplace coverage. All full-time employees are currently eligible to participate in the TJC group benefits program offered through the Employees Retirement System (ERS) Group Benefits Program. This health plan provides more coverage at a lower cost to you than a Marketplace health plan.

If you buy insurance in the Marketplace, you will NOT receive a contribution from Tyler Junior College. Our health plan coverage already meets government standards for providing minimum, affordable coverage.

For anyone interested in more information on the Marketplace Coverage, go to www.HealthCare.gov to review plans available in our state. Keep the PDF notice because it has information you will need to enroll in Marketplace coverage if desired.
