TJC Promise Requirements

Tjc promise logo blk The TJC Promise allows every eligible high school freshman within the TJC tax district to earn up to two years of a college education at TJC. Beginning in 2020, qualifying graduates from Tyler, Chapel Hill, Grand Saline, Lindale, Mineola, Van, and Winona ISDs can receive up to two years of tuition and fees.

The Promise program starts during the second semester of a student’s freshman year in high school. The student will sign a pledge and promise to meet established requirements based on academic achievement, persistence and community service. The TJC Promise program works to create an environment that will promote and encourage a college-going culture among families and high schools.

If a student attends at least two full years at a high school within the TJC tax district and meets the requirements, the TJC Promise Program will cover tuition and fees for up to two years through a combination of federal grants, TJC Scholarships, and the TJC Promise.
