Electrical/Electronic Controls Technology

Through concentrated classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory work, students gain a solid foundation in basic electrical concepts, motors and control applications, and then advance to electronics, measurement and calibration, electrical codes and automated control systems.

Dental Hygiene TWU Bachelor Degree

Dental hygienists are licensed oral health professionals who focus on preventing and treating oral diseases, both to protect teeth and gums, and also to protect patients total health. The partnership with Texas Woman's University will lead to an Associates of Applied Science from TJC and a Bachelor of Science from TWU. Classes are on the TJC campus and online.

The Tyler Junior College (TJC) full-time curriculum in Dental Hygiene:

  • Begins in the fall session of each year.
  • Enrollment is limited to accepted applicants.
  • Holds full accreditation from the American Dental Association.

Wellness & Exercise Specialist

The Wellness & Exercise Specialist degree prepares graduates to become certified personal trainers and/or certified group exercise instructors.
Personal trainers and group exercise instructors work for fitness and recreation centers, medical facilities, gyms, exercise studios, country clubs, resorts and universities. Some will train private clients at their homes or on location. There are also personal trainers employed by companies that offer employee wellness programs.

Community Health Worker Program

Community Health Workers provide services in public health, private health care, community-based social service agencies, and health care insurance companies. Community Health Workers provide unique services to increase wellness and successful outreach to populations in need.

Expected Entry-Level Salary

$31,000.

Occupational Therapy Assistant

A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)* works under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) in various settings including homes, rehabilitation hospitals, nursing homes, schools, clinics, and community centers. 

Expected Entry-Level Salary

$41,000 to $50,000
