Why attend New Student Orientation (NSO)?

First time TJC students are encouraged to attend New Student Orientation to plan their first semester and beyond. NSO helps you prepare for a successful college experience and to learn about TJC’s expectations, traditions, and on-campus services.

Who should attend New Student Orientation?

NSO is designed for recent high school graduates, transfer students with fewer than 15 college credit hours and individuals who have never attended college or are new to college life.

Can family come to orientation?

NSO coordinates Family Orientation sessions throughout the entire NSO program covering topics designed for parents and families.  

What will I do at New Student Orientation?

NSO sessions are intended to be informative and FUN! You will be introduced to the resources needed to be a successful student at Tyler Junior College. You will meet new friends, learn TJC traditions, and discover how to get involved.

What do I need to have completed before attending New Student Orientation?

How do I register for New Student Orientation?

Go to tjc.edu/orientation to sign up for the NSO session that best suits your schedule! You will need to know your student's A# and have a debit/credit card on hand to sign up and pay in full to complete your registration.
