After successfully completing these courses, students are eligible to apply to take the National Registry of EMT’s examination for certification as an Emergency Medical Technician.

Note: Special admission and retention rules apply to all portions of the emergency medical service professions program. See department chair for details. Admission to the program is selective and prior acceptance to the program is required before enrollment. All applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check that includes the provision of necessary documentation for the background check agency to make it reliable. Said documentation may include an authenticated social security card and positive identification such as a driver’s license or identification card.
