Admission Criteria

Tyler Junior College is an open admissions college; however, acceptance into the Surgical Technology Program is limited. Acceptance into the program is based on criteria utilizing a point system, interview process, and reviewed by an Admissions Committee. Because of limited enrollment in the program, not all applicants who meet the basic admissions requirements will be accepted into the program.

Students planning to apply for admission into the Surgical Technology Program for the Fall semester, must submit a complete application (found in the related downloads page) to the Department Chair, Sherry Seaton, no later than the deadline listed in the application packet. You can send for an application after Jan. 13, 2014, if you have completed or are in the process of completing all the required prerequisites. Please contact Sherry Seaton, Department Chair, by e-mail or call 903-510-2962.

Application and other related downloads can be found here.
