University Transfer Information Session: Tuesday, September 8, 2015 and Wednesday, September 9, 2015

Are you thinking about transferring to a four-year university? If so, attend this information session to learn all about transferring! Topics covered include: admission requirements for popular universities, transferring your financial aid, how to find scholarships, how to navigate university websites, and more! Whether you are just starting at TJC or you are planning to transfer next semester, you will not want to miss this session! 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the Quest Classroom, 1st Floor Vaughn Library.

Creating an E-Portfolio: Thursday, September 24, 2015 and Wednesday, September 30, 2015

Online career portfolios are a great tool to provide an in-depth look at your accomplishments and potential. Learn how to create an effective e-portfolio in this session. We will discuss what information needs to be included in your e-portfolio, how to set up your e-portfolio, and how to use an e-portfolio in your job search and beyond! 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the Quest Classroom, 1st Floor Vaughn Library.

STEM Career Day: Wednesday, October 14, 2015

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics are some of the hottest fields with the best hiring potential! Stop by for a panel session or to meet with members of the campus and community who work in STEM fields to find out what the buzz is all about! 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the Apache Rooms of Rogers Student Center. Panels will cover the following:

Résumé Writing 101: Tuesday, October 20, 2015 and Wednesday, October 21, 2015

This workshop will cover the latest tips and tricks in résumé writing. Preparing for the Interview: Tuesday, November 10, 2015 and Wednesday, November 11, 2015

You may have heard the saying: "hard skills get you the interview, soft skills get you the job." This interactive workshop will help you polish your soft skills and answer any questions you may have about the interview process. Topics covered include: how to prepare for an interview, what to wear, how to answer common questions, what questions you should ask employers, and more! 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the Quest Classroom, 1st Floor Vaughn Library.

While you may think of social media as a way to stay connected with friends and family, the truth is that social media is playing a bigger role in your professional life than ever before. Learn how to effectively use social media to market yourself to employers as well as what to avoid with social media. Employers will be on campus hiring students completing health-related programs. Please dress professionally for this event and bring copies of your résumé. 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. (location TBD).

All Majors Job Fair: Wednesday, March 30, 2016

Employers will be on campus hiring students from all majors. Please dress professionally for this event and bring copies of your résumé. 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the Apache Rooms, Rogers Student Center

Industrial Trades Job Fair: Thursday, March 31, 2016

Employers hiring students from automotive technology, electrical/electronic controls technology, HVAC, power plant technology, and welding will be in attendance. Please dress professionally for this event and bring copies of your résumé. 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the West Campus Energy Center.
