First Year Experience
Student FYE Extravaganza Registration Welcome to the department of First Year Experience, or FYE! We are dedicated to presenting unique opportunities for first time students to maximize student potential in the collegiate setting. FYE provides tools, support, and knowledge for students to start off on the right foot in college and have a successful experience at TJC. Attention New, Incoming Students: Sign up NOW for 2010’s FYE Extravaganza! Registration will begin on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Be sure to check back soon for more updates! Feeling a little anxious about leaving home for college? Want to meet new friends and get an inside look into the college life? Then a FYE Extravaganza session is just what you need! FYE Extravaganza sessions are two and a half days worth of on-campus fun and excitement. New students who participate in FYE Extravaganza gain a first-hand glimpse of college life before a semester begins by learning about the TJC campus, exploring how to become involved on campus with activities, clubs and organizations, and socializing and enjoying live entertainment with fellow incoming/new students. Students can even stay in one of the residence halls to get the true feel of college life! Most importantly, students attending FYE Extravaganza receive a current TJC student as a mentor, called the Apache Chiefs, to ease and assist the transition to college. Participating in FYE Extravaganza gives you the tools you will need in order to be successful in this new chapter of your life. The First Year Experience Office stands ready to help you have fun, make new friends and learn the tools that will make you be a successful student at TJC. FYE Extravaganza sessions are limited and do fill up fast, so please register early. Acceptance to attend FYE Extravaganza does not constitute acceptance to Tyler Junior College.
