23rd Annual Biblical and Archaeological Journey to the Splendor of the East Turkey: The Crossroads of Civilizations

Spring Break: March 6-15, 2015

Tyler Junior College is offering a ten day travel/study project in Turkey with the optional extended fourteen day visit. Sites to be visited include: Istanbul, Topkapı Palace, Archaeological Museum, St. Sophia, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Grand Bazar, Spice Market, Dardanells, Bosphorus, Marmara Sea, Canakkale, Aegean Sea, Troy, Pergamum, Ephesus Antique City, Ephesus Museum, Izmir, Kusadasi, Didyma, Aphrodisias, Pamukkale, Hierapolis, Konya, Mausoleum of Mevlana, Cappadocia, Kaymakli Underground City, and more. 

Package Includes: Accommodations, Two Meals a Day per itinerary, Entrance Fees, Land Transportation within Turkey and Hotel Transfers, Administration Fees and Orientation costs.


Cost for the Ten Day Tour: $1,590 for the land portion plus the international and domestic airfares.
Single supplement: $320 for the entire trip.

TJC students will travel with a $150 reduced cost of $1,440 plus the airfares.  Additional funding maybe available for TJC students based on merit and need. TJC will purchase the international and domestic airline tickets for travelers based on the quotation by our travel agent at the time of ticketing. 

A deposit of $590 is required before Friday, December 1, 2014. A full payment is due by January 2, 2015. Enrollment after January 6 will be based on the space availability and on a first come first serve basis. Travelers are welcome to join the tour the last minute, as long as there is space available and TJC is able to make arrangements after the deadline. Any community member, student, or faculty member may enroll for this project. All age groups are welcome to join this tour.

The cost for the optional fourteen day visit will be provided upon request. Subject to availability, the airline may charge higher rates for late bookings.


Students will earn three hours of credit if they enroll at TJC for GOVT2389.
