The Art of Jewelry Making - Wire Crochet and Viking Knit
Nearly 1,300 years ago, Vikings used long pieces of silver and gold wire to weave ropes. These woven wire ropes were then stretched and made into jewelry for famous and powerful Viking leaders. In this 4-week The Art of Jewelry Making - Wire Crochet & Viking Knit class, we will Master the art of Crochet & Knit using wire to create beautiful Viking Knit chains and Wire Crocheted necklaces and bracelets.
Pre-requisite: Introduction to the Art of Jewelry Making or equivalent.
Tools & Supplies: Students are to provide their own supplies. Students are encouraged to express their creativity and purchase beads, wire and findings in colors and finishes to their liking. Supply List: Chain Nose Pliers, Round Nose Pliers, Flush Cutter, Side Cutter or Nippers, Nylon Jawed Pliers (optional), Bead Mat, 24g Artistic Wire, 20g Artistic Wire, Assorted Beads (60 or more), Jewelry Cones, Toggle Clasps, Draw Plate & Dowel, # 6 or 6.5 Crochet Hook, Pencil & Paper.
