Connecting Devices to Your Computer

(ITSC 1092--Special Topics in Data Processing and Data Processing Technology/Technician)                 

Frustrated with all the cords, ports, and long instruction manuals for all your devices?  This hands-on course will provide instruction on ways to connect printers, scanners, digital cameras, webcams, external disks, USB hubs, microphones to basic computer hardware.  Topics include ways to import, name, and organize documents and photos; burn CDs &  DVDs; and set up & use free remote access to one computer from another (LogMeIn, Join.Me, VNC, Remote Desktop). Cloud technology is also introduced through the topics of how to  set up & use free Cloud storage (iCloud, SkyDrive, Box, DropBox, Evernote, GDrive, CloudDrive, SugarSync); ways to back up and sync through the Cloud (iCloud, SugarSync, etc). (7 hrs.)

Prerequisites: Computer Basics, Introduction to Computers, or consent of instructor
