This course is designed to help you "bridge the gap" in reviewing skills to help you successfully pass the Accuplacer or THEA test. The syllabus is designed around THEA objectives: Vocabulary, Main Idea, Patterns of Organization, Organizing Textbook Information, Point of View, and Critical Thinking Skills. I use a variety of active teaching methods in order to engage you into the learning process. To be successful in this class, you must faithfully attend class, be an active participant and do all required assignments.
New and returning students are required to take the Accuplacer (given in the Testing Center, 2nd floor of Rogers Student Center) to determine the proper placement in the course. Your score will place you in the appropriate reading course.
