Mrs. Mensch is instructor of jazz studies and applied low brass, including bass trombone, euphonium, and tuba lessons. She conducts both TJC jazz ensembles, brass choir, tuba euphonium ensemble, and assists with the Apache Marching Band.
She also actively performs with and manages the Rose City Brass Quintet and is bass trombonist with the East Texas Jazz Orchestra and the Colonial Hills Baptist Church Orchestra. Mrs. Mensch has performed with the Orchestra of the Pines in Nacadoches, and the North East Texas Symphony in Sulphur Springs, and has also performed with the likes of Vince DiMartino, Randy Brecker, Miles Osland, John Fedchock, Mike Vax, Blair Bollinger, Charles Vernon, and Scott Hartman.
She has served as the All-state Jazz Coordinator for the Texas Community College Band Directors Association for the past two years and most recently was chosen to select and perform the Texas 5A bass trombone All-state etudes at the Texas Bandmasters Association Conference this past July.
Mrs. Mensch holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Bass Trombone Performance from the University of Kentucky and a Master of Education degree from Houston Baptist University. She is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association, the International Trombone Association, the International Tuba Euphonium Association, and the International Association of Jazz Educators.
