*Alternates pending re-evaluation on July 11
Alternates must attend the first 2 summer camps prior to the re-evaluation on July 11. If skills have improved and been acquired then alternates will become full members of the 2009-2010 TJC line.
The Apache Band is the official College band program open to all
students who qualify by audition. The band program as a whole performs
at a large number of campus, athletic, and community events. The
Marching Band is the most visible element of the band program at
Tyler Junior College. Its primary role is performing at football
games, parades and exhibition performances at high schools and
marching band contests.
The Jazz Band, Jazz Band II, Brass Instrumental Chamber Ensemble,
Woodwind Instrumental Chamber Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Apache
Pan Ensemble, and Wind Ensemble are select groups of band students
from the Apache Marching Band chosen by audition to play various
genres of music.
In the Spring Semester, those not chosen for the Wind Ensemble
will form the Symphonic Band to perform concert band literature.
All members of the band program will form three different basketball
pep bands called Apache Spirit Basketball band to perform at home
games at least once a week.
