Scholarship Information

A limited number of Tyler Junior College Alumni Association scholarships are available.

They are presented to students of integrity and stature, who at a young age, have proven to be an asset to their community and educational institutions. First preference for all Alumni Scholarships will be given to dependents of our paid members.

The Alumni Association’s Presidential Scholarship Tyler Junior College ’s most prestigious academic award!
  • Incoming Freshmen Only
  • $2,000/yr for two years
  • Testing Requirements:
    • Minimum SAT – 1070 with a 500 each in math and verbal
    • Minimum ACT – 23 with a 19 each in English and math
  • Applicants must show academic leadership, extra-curricular and/or community involvement
  • First preference for the Alumni Presidential Scholarship will be given to dependents of our members

Interested applicants will need to fill out the Tyler Junior College Freshman Scholarship Application as soon as possible.  Although the official application deadline is March 1, the award process for this scholarship does start earlier in the year.  The application should include a recent copy of the high school transcript showing SAT and/or ACT scores

The Alumni Association’s Legacy Scholarships Legacy Scholarships primarily fund participation in performance programs: Apache Belles, Apache Band, music groups, dance, theatre, cheerleaders, athletics and Student Senate.

  • Incoming Freshmen Only
  • A student must remain in good academic standing
  • Complete 24 hours per academic year
  • Participate in a specified performance group or activity
  • Attend the annual Legacy Scholarship Recognition event
  • First preference for the Alumni Legacy Scholarships will be given to dependents of our members

The Alumni Association’s Annual Scholarship
Is a general scholarship that is awarded to students for many combinations of attributes including: academic merit, leadership, need, choice of study and other factors.

  • A student must remain in good academic standing
  • Complete 24 hours per academic year
  • First preference for this scholarship will be given to dependents of our member

The Student To Alumni Representative Scholarship ( STARs)
Recipients of this alumni scholarship are an elite group of students who are selected to assist with various Alumni, Foundation, and College events through out the school year. They have the honor of meeting influential alumni and friends of the College.

  • A student must remain in good academic standing
  • Complete 24 hours per academic year
  • First preference for this scholarship will be given to dependents of our members
